VECTR is New Zealand's economics platform. Every number it returns is built from official public data, and every run is stamped with a serial you can check. If something you need isn't here, ask: [email protected].

Every input comes from an official statistical agency or public record. No proprietary third-party datasets are used in the base model. Custom datasets can be integrated for commissioned research.

Datasets are added with each release, and the registry records which of them stand behind a given result.
Every run is stamped
Each run mints a run ID, printed on the report as a 2D barcode with the model, data and solver versions behind it. When the question comes back months later, that stamp says which build produced the number and which data stood behind it. Prove It — a command-line tool today, coming to the app — returns the full derivation of an output back to the public data it rests on.
AI disclosure.
VECTR is a deterministic engine. All economic computation runs in VECTR CORE, and no AI generated, estimated or calibrated the coefficients, elasticities or structural parameters of the model — those come from the source data by documented statistical and econometric methods. Use of AI in VECTR's development and operation
Large language models were used during development for coding assistance, drafting, and refactoring: Claude (Anthropic), GPT-4 (OpenAI), and Gemini (Google). All AI-assisted code was accepted, tested, and validated by human developers before integration.
The optional AI Assistant in the Console runs on an API key you provide: no language model ships with the platform. It helps you phrase a question and read the answer. It cannot run VECTR CORE and performs no economic calculation.
This website was built following the same protocols.
Commercial licensing.
Licence VECTR and your team runs it in-house; or commission Danalytics to run it for you. Danalytics Consulting Ltd licenses to government agencies, research institutions and private organisations.

Source-available under licence
Your own people can read the code that produced your numbers. Inspection is granted under the commercial licence; the code cannot be redistributed, modified for commercial use, or used to build a competing product without written agreement.

No financial or policy advice
VECTR is an analytical tool. Its outputs are model-based estimates — indicative of direction and relative magnitude — not predictions, forecasts, or recommendations. Danalytics does not provide financial, legal, or policy advice.
Model limitations
Like all CGE models, VECTR operates under simplifying assumptions — rational agents, market clearing, and constant returns to scale at the aggregate level. The precomputed results cover a defined range of scenarios; questions outside that range require a live computation, available under the full licence but not under VECTR Lite.
Cultural content
Version 1 of VECTR was not built through Māori-led co-design. Its cultural and social features treat Māori economic dimensions as structural parts of the model; engagement with iwi and hapū is ongoing and shapes future versions. See the note on co-design.
